Age Divisions Check-In :

  • 0-11 months old Queen & King 8:30am
  • 1 year old Queen & King 8:30am
  • 2 year old Queen & King 9:30am
  • 3 year old Queen & King 9:30am
  • 4 year old Jr. Queen & Jr. King 9:30am

Rules

  • Dress in pageant attire . (No watermelon outfits)
  • If there are less than three contestants in any age group, the contestants will be placed in another group.
  • Please arrive dressed for the pageant. No dressing areas will be available.
  • All contestants must be at the pageant by their assigned check-in time. Pageant will begin at 9am.
  • Keep makeup to a minimal ( no fake hair no flappers) . We encourage you to allow children to be themselves and enjoy the festival. This is not a glitz
  • Jr. Queen and Jr. King contestants will answer a question on stage. In addition, the Jr. Queen and Jr. King contestants must submit with application, a 5x7 photograph (snapshots OK, NO glamour shots ) to be judged prior to the pageant. There will be one photogenic winner in the Jr. group only.
  • All contestants will receive a trophy.
  • The Queen and King in each age division will be expected to ride in the Newberry Watermelon Festival parade on Saturday, May 20th at 9:00am. You will be responsible for your own car and signs with your name, title, and sponsor.
  • Also, winners and runners-up will be introduced at the Festival TBA, and Little Queens and Kings at the Queen’s Pageant Friday, May 19th at 7:30pm.
  • All blanks on application must be complete.

SPONSOR : A sponsor is one or more person(s) who pays the entry fee. Their name and/or place
of business will be announced as the contestants line up on stage for crowning. Sponsor can be mom and dad, grandma, grandpa, or a business of your choice.

(Contestants will be introduced by number only during the judging.)

DEADLINE : Application must be postmarked by May 4th . NO EXCEPTIONS!

ADMISSION : Admission is $1.00 at the door and under 5 FREE.
